Jim was the World Team Tennis Aviators General Manager, for three years. In 2016, under Jim’s first year as Aviators GM, the team won the WTT national title (Kings Trophy) and in 2017, the team was the runner-up. When the team won the WTT title, Jim also served as the team’s assistant coach. He is now the Director of Community Relations for the Aviators.
Jim has been a tennis fixture for over 20 years in the tennis industry, especially in San Diego. He has coached NCAA championship players, as well as ATP and WTA players.
He was the first coach at the Barnes Tennis Center and ran the High-Performance Junior Program for over 10 years. He is a currently a member of the BTC Board of Directors.
Jim is one of the first coaches in the USA to become a USTA High-Performance certified coach. He was named the USPTA San Diego Coach of the Year in 1990.
Jim played on the SDSU tennis team and was team captain. He was the #1 Men's Open Doubles player in San Diego and he still competes in senior national tournaments.
